Muscle Relaxant / Anti Wrinkle Injections

The substance used as muscle relaxant in anti-wrinkle injections is a naturally occurring purified protein called Botulinum Toxin Type A. They are injected in small quantities into the muscle to selectively and temporarily stop muscle contraction in small areas so that the overlying skin has a chance to relax, heal and repair naturally. The surrounding muscles will be able to function as normal to produce facial expressions. The result is usually a younger, fresher and natural looking appearance. When used repeatedly it will also prevent overactive muscular contractions and possibly prevent or delay further wrinkle formation.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can be made of different substances and come in various consistencies. They are injected into the skin, deeper tissue or lips to replace volume, fill out wrinkles or folds, smooth out and improve the texture of the skin. Dermal fillers are commonly used to fill lines and folds in conjunction with muscle relaxing anti-wrinkle injections. They are also used to fill static lines i.e. lines which are there when the person is not animating. The result is younger, natural looking, revitalised skin. We can also use dermal fillers creatively to enhance the person's facial features.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are solutions applied on the skin to resurface the skin by removing the top layer of the skin. They also help induce collagen remodeling. This results in the emergence of more youthful, radiant skin which is more wrinkle free, less sun damaged and may also help improve scarring and pigmentation. Fat Dissolving Injections

These injections predominantly containing phosphatidylcholine are administered into fatty tissue to help breakdown fat cells. They are commonly mixed with enzymes and vitamins to enhance their effect. Phosphatidylcholine is naturally found in the body as a phospholipid in cell membranes. It is also an important component in cellular metabolism and exerts an important influence on the regulation of lipids in the body.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a type of physical exfoliation. It uses a machine which uses gentle suction to approximate the skin to the hand piece of the machine. The hand piece is then moved across the skin to exfoliate the skin and take off the top layer of skin cells. The result is immediately smoother skin. The process unclogs pores and also increases blood flow and lymphatic drainage of the skin to yield healthier skin. The stimulation on the skin may also result in a natural increased production of collagen, hence improving the texture of the skin.
